DISCOVERING ART: Grades 1-3

The primary goal of this camp is to motivate the child to appreciate the arts through a wide variety of studio activities (drawing, painting, constructing, printmaking, bookbinding and mixed media), art appreciation games, and discussions about art. The activities of art making; conceiving an idea, assembling, organizing, and working with the materials, give campers a concrete way to apply and share knowledge as they discover more about the world of art.

DRAWING AND PAINTING: Grades 4-9

Drawing and painting are the first steps in translating an idea into concrete visual terms. In this camp, you will explore linear, tonal, color, abstract and realistic art through drawing and painting exercises. Discover the different qualities of graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, tempera, acrylic, collage and mixed media. Learn to draw and paint forms from nature, interiors, manmade objects, the human figure, and imaginary images.
