Biography
Susan Bikoff is a local artist/teacher. She has been exhibiting and teaching for more than 25 years. She obtained her B.A. degree from Brandeis University in Fine Arts and Psychology. She also holds Master of Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees from the University of Iowa in Studio Art and Art History. She received her teacher’s certification from Brandeis University.
In 1980 she joined the staff of the Fillmore Arts Center in Washington D.C., where she taught Fine Arts and Art History. In 1985 she accompanied her husband to Cape Town, South Africa. There she was a visiting lecturer in Art Education at the University of Cape Town. Since her return, she has taught locally at Hunter’s Woods, a Fairfax County art magnet public school, the Smithsonian Institution, the Kennedy Center, and she has been a visiting lecturer at American University and Maryland Institute College of Art. In 1995 Sue transformed her studio into a teaching studio and opened Artworks Studio B, offering a wide variety of art classes and workshops for adults and children.
Sue’s artwork includes prints, paintings, drawings and multi-dimensional collages. Sue has exhibited her art frequently since 1980. She has shown locally at the Charles Sumner Museum, the Studio Gallery, the W.P.A., and the Cage Gallery. She has shown nationally in Boston, New York, and Iowa and internationally in Cape Town, South Africa. Her prints have also been included in many juried and invitational shows around the country.
